Yanhua Niu, professor and doctoral supervisor. She graduated from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) in 2007 and obtained the doctor degree of science majored in polymer chemistry and physics. After graduation, she joined ICCAS as a faculty and was promoted to associate professor in 2009. In 2011, she was transferred to the National Institute of Clean and Low-carbon Energy (NICE). In 2014, she joined Sichuan University (SCU) as an imported talent, and was promoted to professor in 2017. Yanhua Niu has long been engaged in research on multilevel structure regulation, multiscale relaxation and viscoelasticity, aging and stabilization of polymers. As a project or technical leader, Yanhua Niu has undertaken a number of national and provincial projects, including 1 key project and 3 general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 1 project of the 13th Five-Year Plan of the State Administration of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense, and 1 international cooperation project of the Department of Science and Technology of Sichuan Province. She has published more than 80 papers on the well-known journals such as Macromolecules, Polymer, and etc., and has been authorized 9 patents (1 of which won China Patent Silver Award).

Primary research interests

1) Multi-level structural regulation and preparation of functional materials of charged polymer systems

2) Viscoelasticity and unsteady flow of multiphase and multicomponent polymer melts

3) Failure mechanism and service life of specialty elastomers
