Jinrong Wu, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, is presently a Professor in the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Polymer Materialsat Sichuan University, where he commenced his academic career in 2009. He completed his B.S. (2003) and Ph.D. (2008) in the College of Polymer Science and Engineering at Sichuan University. During his academic journey, he visited at Texas Tech University (2007 to 2008) and Harvard University (2014 to 2016) as a visiting scholar.
His main research focuses on high-performance and functional elastomeric materials, as well as related theoretical issues. He has led six NSFC projects, along with numerous nationaland industry-sponsored projects. He maintains long-term collaborations with major enterprises such as Sinopec and Huawei.
As the first author or corresponding author, he has published over 150 papers in SCI-indexed international journals, including Advanced Materials, PNAS, Angewandte Chemie,Nature Communications,Macromolecules, and CCS Chemistry. His work has been featured in special reports by media outlets such as CCTV News Broadcast, Science, The Washington Post, Fox News, Materials Today, Science Daily, Phys.org, European Rubber Journal, ABC News (USA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Xinhua Net.
He holds more than 30 authorized Chinese invention patents and one U.S. invention patent. His awards include the “Feng Xinde Polymer Award”for Best Paper, the Huawei Outstanding Technical Collaboration Project Award, the Innovative Paper Award in Polymer Science Basic Research, the Special Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Petrochemical Education and Teaching, the Sichuan University "Future Teaching Master Award," and the China Rubber Science and Technology Innovation Award.
He serves as a reviewer for journals such as Science and Nature,an associate editor ofChina Synthetic Rubber Industry,a Youth Editorial Board Member of Science China Materials, and an editorial board member of China Rubber Industry.
