Biography

Professor Xie was born on January 5, 1974. After receiving a Bachelor degree of polymer chemical engineering from Chengdu University of Science and Technology (a part of  Sichuan University now) in June 1996, he was recommended to study for a Master degree of biomedical engineering in the same university. In June 1998, he was changed to a Ph. D. student. In June 2001, he received a Doctoral degree of biomedical engineering. Since then, he has been working in college of polymer science and engineering, Sichuan University. He worked as a lecturer during July 2001 and June 2003, then became an associate professor. In October 2010, he promoted to a full professor of biomedical engineering. He also worked as a visiting professor in Laval University and McGill University, Canada, from May 2008 to May 2009 and from January 2014 to January 2015, respectively.

Research Interests

His research domains cover biomedical materials and environment friendly materials, including polyurethane vascular grafts, hydroxyapatite bone repairing materials, and polyurethane environment friendly blowing agents. He received 4 research grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 8 research programs from domestic companies. He has published over 50 scientific papers and has been granted 15 patents up to now.
