Biography

Prof. Qiang Wei is a full professor in Biomaterials at College of Polymer Science & Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering at Sichuan University.

He is also the co-founder and the Chief Scientist of Maybio Tech Co., Ltd.


He received a bachelor degree in Polymer Materials & Engineering at Sichuan University in 2008 and a master degree in Biomedical Engineering at the same university in 2011. He earned his Ph. D. Degree at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Free University of Berlin (FUB) in 2014. He became a postdoctoral fellow at Max Planck Institute for Medical Research (MPGMF) from 2015 and the project leader of FUB-MPGMF joint project for cell mechanotransduction from 2017. Since June 2019, He has become a full professor in Sichuan University and focus on mechanobiology.


Prof. Qiang Wei won the Chinese Government Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad Award (2014) and Highest praise "Summa Cum Laude" for PhD thesis at the Free University of Berlin (2014).


He has published numbers of papers in the world's leading journal such as Science Advances, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, Advanced Science and so on.


Prof. Qiang Wei is also the editorial board members of Smart Materials in Medicine, Materials Research Express, Biosensors, and Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, and the youth editorial board members of The Innovation.
