Research Interests

l Osteoarthritis treatment

Ø Mimicking the activities of metabolic enzymes and synthetases, we design zwitterionic nanozyme to enhance lubrication, activate heat shock response, and promote hyaluronic acid synthesis, facilitating the restoration of osteoarthritic cartilage.

Ø Addressing lubrication failure and sustained drug release within the articular cartilage, we designed a ring brush topology structure based on zwitterionic polymers. This innovative approach achieves a state of superlubricity (COF=0.017) through cooperative lubrication.

Ø Developing a cartilage-targeting zwitterion polymer inspired by lubricant molecules.

l Osteoporosis treatment

Ø Developing peptide-modified injectable SiO2 nanoparticles, aiming to enhance the stability and prolong the therapeutic effect of sCT.

Ø Designing a series of injectable thermosensitive hydrogels based on natural polysaccharides to extend the release period of sCT for over 28 days and significantly enhance osteogenic activity by two-fold.

Ø Conducting a comprehensive review on the spatiotemporal controlled release system of sCT in OP treatment, emphasizing its crucial role in the management of bone and joint diseases.

l Bone (Osteochondral) defect repair

Ø Designing a double-layer hydrogel with strong interface binding force to simulate cartilage/bone, which can realize vascularization of osteochondral defects in 4 weeks and complete osteochondral healing in 8 weeks.

Ø Preparing injectable hydrogel with antibacterial and osteogenic properties, which can be used for bone defects in refractory periapical periodontitis.
