Dr. Pei Cheng, Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, born in 1989. He graduated from the College of Polymer Science and Engineering of Sichuan University with a bachelor's degree in 2011, and from the Laboratory of Organic Solids of the Institute of Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016 with a Ph.D. degree in polymer chemistry and physics (supervisor: Professor Xiaowei Zhan). From 2017 to 2020, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in United States (supervisor: Prof. Yang Yang). In May 2021, he joined the Department of Polymer Materials, College of Polymer Science and Engineering, Sichuan University, and established the Functional Polymer Materials and Devices Research Group.

Polymer solar cells based on optoelectrical functional organic polymer materials are a promising solar energy conversion technology, which has the advantages of light weight, flexibility, translucency, environmental protection, low energy consumption and simple process. In recent years, Prof. Pei Cheng has made a series of innovative research achievements in the fields of charge carrier generation efficiency enhancement, active layer morphology control, device stability improvement, large-area device fabrication, flexible transparent polymer solar cells and tandem polymer solar cells. To date, he has published more than 40 papers as first or corresponding author, including Nat. Photon., Nat. Rev. Mater., Joule (2), Adv. Mater. (7), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Energy Environ. Sci. (3), Chem. Soc. Rev. (2), Acc. Chem. Res., Nat. Commun., Matter, Adv. Energy Mater. (3), Adv. Funct. Mater., Nano-Micro Lett., ACS Nano (2), ACS Energy Lett. In total, he has published more than 110 papers, with 9,500 citations and an H-factor of 44, 5 papers have been selected as ESI hot papers, and 22 papers have been selected as ESI highly cited papers. Some of the research results have been included in the "Best Research-Cell Efficiency Chart" of the United States National Laboratory for Renewable Energy (NREL). He has been selected as a young editorial board member of Mater. Horiz., Nano-Micro Lett., SusMat, J. Energy Chem. and Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica.
