In the forenoon, July 20th, “The cultural exchange activities of the college of polymer science and engineering” was successfully held in the conference room of academy building.

The PSE teachers, Prof. Rong Ran, the assistant Dean of PSE; ZhiQi Qian, associate secretary of CCP PSE committee; Yi Li, the secretary of Youth League Committee; XiaoYu Mu, the teaching secretary attended the meeting.  And three overseas students attended, including Raj Shankar Hazra from India, Bradley Thomas Hoffmann and Joseph Brian Fehrenbach from America. Besides, 5 students from Grade 2014 and 23 students from Grade 2016 participated in the activity.

At the beginning, ZhiQi Qian introduced the college of polymer science and engineering briefly. Then the certificate for Sichuan University Summer Immersion Program was conferred to overseas students.

After that, Raj introduced the culture of India. Joe shared the lake culture with the audiences and Brad talked about his life in North Dakota. Several Chinese students of Grade 2014 demonstrated traditional Chinese culture, such as Beijing opera facial masks, traditional Chinese medicine and traditional festivals, etc.

Apart from that, 3 Chinese students of Grade 2016 played conventional instruments like bottle gourd silk and vertical bamboo flute. Eventually, the cultural exchange activity was ended in a magic show.

This exchange meeting was one of a series of activities in International Week of 2018, aiming at enhance understanding and communication globally. It inspired our PSE students to learn to manage culture fusion.
